J.U.S.T
Jamming Underused Socialist Treasures is a long-term research project initiated by the Critical Urbanism Laboratory at the European Humanities University in Vilnius, in collaboration with Berlin based research studio ParaArtFormations. The project focuses on exploring the socialist-modernist heritage of East European towns and cities as a primary issue for the future development of the spaces of this region. By being rooted in the specific context of the local built environments, J.U.S.T. seeks to be a springboard for creating new ideas and knowledge about contemporary urban processes, and thus to act as a crucible for new modes of activism and intervention. Underlying the project is a concern for the issue of spatial justice in post-socialist spaces.Categories
